Cerebral Infarction Demonstrated by Gallium-67-Gallium Citrate Scintigraphy

Ga-gallium citrate scintigraphy was performed as a screening procedure with the clinical suspected occult infection. The scintigraphy revealed an area of increased Ga accumulation at the right cerebral region. His computed tomography scan of brain revealed an area of hemorrhagic infarction at the right parietal lobe. This incidental finding on the Ga scintigraphy was thought to be caused by cerebral infarction, presumably because of blood-brain barrier breakdown.
